UTTOXETER WALKING CLUB
Coach trip to Malvern
7th June
Depart: 8:00am Tesco bus stop, Uttoxeter
Depart: 5:00pm Malvern
Malvern is an elegant Victorian spa town nestled at the foot of the Malvern Hills, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There should be time after the walk for a look round or if you prefer not to walk enjoy the day browsing round the town. There are independent cafes and retailers including arts and craft shops, galleries and boutiques. The locality attracts artists and craftspeople, so you will find some delightful works on show in the shops and galleries.
Jonathan will lead the 8 mile, 2,500' ascent walk - the coach will drop off at Hollybush and will follow the Malvern crest taking in the summits of 12 hills, ending in North Malvern to pick up the coach for the return journey .
Tony will lead the 6 mile walk - the walk is in two parts: the first part is a 4 mile circular across the southern hill passing through Holy Well and Berrington’s Quarry; the second is a linear 2 mile walk skirting the north hill and delivering us into the town centre for sightseeing (and refreshments). There are a couple of steep bits but these can be taken as slowly as necessary.
